(Revelation 6:1)
"And I saw, and, look! A white horse; and the one seated upon it had a bow; and a crown was given him, and he went forth conquering and to complete his conquest."
In the bible the horse symbolizes warfare (Psalms 20:7 Psalms 33:16,17 Proverbs 21:31 Isaiah 31:1) And whiteness indicates holiness that is unblemished (Revelation 1:14-4:4-7:9-19:11,14-20:11 Daniel 7:9) The two together shows it is a righteous and holy war. Some believe the bow is not loaded, but that is not totaly true as stated in
(Psalm 45:4-7)

"And in your splendor go on to success; ride in the cause of truth and humility and righteousness, and your right hand will instruct you in fear-inspiring things. Your arrows are sharp-under you peoples keep falling-in the heart of the enemies of the king, GOD is your throne to time indefinite, even forever;

Horseman 1 Cont.

The scepter of your kingship is a scepter of uprightness. You have loved righteousness and you hate wickedness. That is why GOD your GOD, has anointed you with the oil of exultation more than your partners."
The bow is also viewed as an offensive weapon of war in those times and the fact that the rider is wearing a crown indicates he is a representative of the heavenly kingdom because in the Lords Day only Jesus and the 24 elders are seen wearing crowns. (psalms 21:3;2 timothy 4:8;1 peter 5:4; Revelation 4:4, 10; 14:14) So the rider of this horse is none other than the resurrected JESUS CHRIST, MICHAEL the archangel. Shortly after his resurrection, CHRIST establishes his new rulership by going to war with GODS opposition the Devil and casting Satan and his rebel angles out of heaven. (Revelation 12:7-12)

(Revelation 6:4)
"And another came fourth, a fiery-colored horse; And to the one seated upon it there was granted to take peace away from the earth so that they should slaughter one another; And a great sword was given him."
Obviuosly this horseman symbolizes warfare on a global scale! But, before we examine this horseman we will go back to the first horseman because it directly corresponds to the crown on the head of the first horseman Jesus Christ. The crown on his head also shows he has received the Kingdom after the war in heaven and the appointed times of the nations or the time of the gentiles (Luke 21:24) has been fullfilled. The appointed times of the nations is a period of time when there is no government representing the true GOD JEHOVAH on the earth. God was represented by the kingdom of Judah as shown by 1 Chronicles 29:23 when Solomon sat on the throne, it was called the throne of GOD.

Horseman 2 Cont.

In the book of Daniel chapter 4, the vision of the tree being cut down represents the government of Judah and Gods temple being destroyed begining the appointed times of the nations. This happened in October 607 B.C.E when GOD allowed Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, to destroy his temple. At that time the king of Judah, Zedekiah was told to lift off the crown until the one comes who deserves it.(Ezekiel 21:25-27) How long will the appointed time be? When will Christ begin to rule in Heaven? When will satan be cast to the earth? (Daniel 4:16,23) Tells us seven times will pass. In (Revelation 12:6,14) we see that 1,260 days are equal to 3 1/2 times. Divide 1260 by 3.5 and you get 360 days. So, 360 days=1 time. Multiply 360 x 7 and you get 2,520 days. Then apply the bible rule a day for a year (Numbers 14:34 Ezekiel 4:6) we then have 2,520 years. Now add 2,520 years from October 607 B.C.E. it comes to October 1914 C.E. World War 1 began. As we can see the Red horse symbolizes the bloodstained effects of constant war and the great sword weilded by the second horseman symbolizes how warfare has multiplied and changed for the worse since 1914.

Horseman 3

(Revelation 6:5)
"And I saw, and, look! a black horse; and the one seated upon it had a pair of scales in his hand."
The dire message here is stark famine. This scene comes from the Lord's Day when food had to be rationed by scales. Since 1914 famine has steadly increased worldwide to never before seen proportions! Not to forget to mention how famine comes in the wake of war do to the fact most countries put more money into war and weapon creation than feeding their hungry citizens! John has more to tell us
(Revelation 6:6)
"And I heard a voice as if in the midst of the four living creatures say: 'A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the olive oil and the wine.'"
This seems to be symbolic for the need to ration food supplies just as people needed to prior to Jerusalem's destruction in 607 B.C. (Ezekiel 4:16 ) In Johns time a quart of wheat was a daily ration for a soldier at the cost of a denarius. ( Matthew 20:2 ) If a man had a family he could buy three quarts of barley for the same price.

Horseman 3 Cont.

The statement,"Do not harm the olive oil and the wine," has been looked at as the wealthy not suffering even during a famine. But in the middle east these were staple items. (Genesis 14:18 Psalm 104:14,15) Water was not always good so they had to drink wine(1 Timothy 5:23) So this is advise to ration these necessities to stay alive during a famine.

Horseman 4

(Revelation 6:8)
"And I saw, and look! a pale horse; and the one seated upon it had the name Death, And Hades was closely following him. And authority was given them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with a long sword and with food shortage and with deadly plague and by the wild beasts of the earth."
The rider of the fourth horse is the only one to reveal his identity so directly and has a name that matches what it represents, DEATH. Since the horse is pale it also symbolizes plague. Plague comes from the Greek word (khlo-ros') used to describe faces that are blanched, as if affected by disease. I am sure I don't need to go into great detail about how many diseases there are in the world today. Death is then closely followed by Hades (the grave or the pit). The ride of this horseman reaps the harvest of the second, third, and it's own wake. It also represents death from the wild beasts of the earth which do not make headlines much but there are many deaths caused by animals around the world in smaller countries that have mass wilderness and jungles.
