Image of The Wild Beast

In the latter part of the scripture at (Revelation 13:1,2)It symbolically describes the body of the wild beast which seems to have a combination of features from the beasts described in (Daniel Chapter 7). This body symbolizes the world political body united together as one orginization. The United Nations. The number of the horns seems symbolic as well, but maybe not, seeing how there happens to be ten security counsil members who serve a short term and different nations circulate through the counsil,(Revelation 17:12) but really it is the world political organization that is controlled, ruled, and owned by satan. Compare (Matthew 4: 8,9 Luke 4:5-7 John 14:30) If the kingdoms of the world did not belong to the devil, how then could he have offered them to Jesus Christ? A higher ranking angel than all other angels?

Continued from the Wild Beast section

The diadems on the horns could represent how all the sovereign states of the world would exercise ruling power simultaneously with the dominant state, or the world power at that time. "Upon its heads blasphemous names." So it is making claims for itself that show disrespect to God and to Jesus Christ. We know that governments of the world have used names of God and Christ to achieve its political ends. It has also played along with false religion (The Harlot, see the section on the Harlot), and allowed the clergy to take part in its political process. For example, the House of Lords in England includes the bishops. Catholic cardinals have played prominent political roles in France and Italy, and priests have taken policical office in Latin America. Governments print,"in God we trust", on their currency and on their coins they claim divine approval for their rulers stating, for example, that these are appointed "by the grace of God." This is blasphemous because it involves God and Christ in the nationalistic political arena.

(Revelation 17:8-12)
"The wild beast that you saw was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss, and it is to go off into destruction. And when they see how the wild beast was, but is not, and yet will be present, those who dwell on the earth will wonder admiringly, but their names have not been written upon the scroll of life from the founding of the world." "Here is where the intelligence that has wisdom comes in: The seven heads mean seven mountains where the woman sits on top and there are seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet arrived, but when he does arrive he must remain a short while. And the wild beast that was but is not, it is also itself an eighth [king], but springs from the seven, and it goes off into destruction."

The wild beast "was" Yes, it had existed as the League of Nations from January 10, 1920 with 63 nations taking part in is body at one time or another with the exception of Japan, Italy, and Germany who had withdrawn and the Soviet Union being dropped from the body. With Hitler starting World War II in September 1939, The League of Nations plunged into a virtual abyss of inactivity because it had failed to do what it was set up to do, prevent war and bring peace to the world. By 1942 the League of Nations had become a has-been.

When the League of nations fell it was also refered to in the Bible as a death-stroke
(Revelation 13:3)
"And I saw one of it's heads as though slaughtered to death, but it's death-stroke got healed, and all the earth followed the wild beast with admiration."

In 1917 the United States contributed her resources and manpower to bolster the war effort of the staggering allies. Thus, the seventh head combining Britian and the United States came out on the winning side of world war 2. The world after the war was vastly different. Satans earthly system, although devastated by the death-stroke, revived and became more powerful than ever and so won the admiration of humans because of it's recuperative power.

(Revelation 13:4)
"And they worshiped the dragon because it gave the authority to the wild beast, and they worshiped the wild beast with the words: "Who is like the wild beast , and who can do battle with it?'"

Worship in what sense? In the sense of putting love of country before the love of God. Of course most people love the land of their birth. As good citizens, true Christians also respect the rulers and the emblems of the counrty where they reside, obey the laws, and make a positive contribution to the welfare of their community and their neighbors. (Romans 13:1-7 1 Peter 2:13-17) they cannot, however, give blind devotion to one country as against all others. "Our counrtry, right or wrong" is not a Christian teaching. So Christians who worship Jehovah God cannot share in giving prideful patriotic worship to any part of the wild beast, for this would ammount to worshiping the dragon - the source of the authority of the beast. True Christians must uphold Jehovahs universal sovereignty as our only true ruler.
